The dinosaur that broke the camel’s back

I have a wonderful friend Shelly who sent me a link about a full-scale T-Rex replica in Paris.  “Maybe it will still be there when you go to Paris,” she said.  I have no planned trips to Paris, but she understands my wanderlust and how I relax by cruising the Alaska Airlines website.  Shelly is wise in other ways too.  Moments ago she helped me reach a conclusion about my blogging career has been brimming for days.

It actually came about because of this dinosaur.  After Shelly sent me this link, the blogger in me yelled “I want to write about that!”  Quickly I thought that I couldn’t, I shouldn’t, it didn’t fit with my blog’s image.  I have been writing Let’s Talk About Beer for 3.5 lovely years but I’m feeling stifled.  Having a niche blog worked well when I was unattached, it was easy to focus my life on one thing.  This is not possible anymore.  My life has become much larger and fuller than I could ever imagine.  It’s a beautiful thing and it pains feeling like I can’t talk about it all.  Maybe it’s time to move on, maybe I just need a break.  Maybe I’ll take you guys with me on a little exercise in not caring about coulda, shoulda, wouldas.

Meanwhile, I want to go see the Eiffel Tour through the skeleton of a dinosaur.  I have enough miles for a couple roundtrips to Paris for Valentine’s Day!  Or maybe a quick trip in March to celebrate our 6 years of being together….
