Week 33

She weighs about 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and measures about 17.2 to 18.7 inches. And she may grow up to a full inch this week — amazing.

She’s keeping his eyes open while awake.

She’s also starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing.

Her bones are hardening.

And she going through (more) major brain development — that’s one smart baby! (Bring on the omega-3s!)

From Jessyka:  Harper’s a durian!  Only 7 weeks until the due date, seems like such a short amount of time!  My body is getting ready for the big day by increasing my awareness of the Braxton Hicks contractions.  It’s good practice to be able to sit down and practice my breathing when they come rolling in.  We’re ready for our stint in Anchorage too.  The house is rented, my ferry ticket is booked, and Jonah bought his plane ticket this morning.

For those of your who don’t know the process, our little town Cordova does not have birthing facilities or any emergency services.  There are people in town who, with the help of doulas, give birth in their homes.  If I was a little braver, that is something I would consider but this being my first time, I thought I’d error on the side of caution.  To have the baby in Anchorage, I have to get there 3 weeks before the due date and stay until a week after.  It’ll be a time of working remotely and squat exercises, maybe a trip to the zoo!

We are still waiting IMPATIENTLY to hear about the house.  Give it to us already!  The papers only need one last approval and we’re set.

Last weekend we headed to Girdwood for Mary’s wedding.  More on that later, but here’s a sneak peek!
