Week 17

Week 17 BabyWeek 17Baby continues to beef up. Now she’s about 5.1 inches long and weighs about 5.9 ounces.

  • Her rubbery cartilage is now turning to bone.
  • And she’s growing some meat on those bones — putting on some fat.
  • She’s growing a stronger, thicker umbilical cord, too.

From Jessyka:  It was a quick week with many improvements to our house: painting the kitchen (photos soon!), getting rid of unneeded clutter, organizing the basement.  We’ve welcomed the dizzily weather, it’s been awhile since we’ve used our usual raingear uniforms and it’s been very helpful getting rid of all the dirty snow.   Jonah took off for Ketchikan yesterday and I’ve taken over the house with knitting projects already.

I had a small fall yesterday during an afternoon walk.  Having friends at the Ilanka Clinic definitely paid off when they were able to squeeze me in for a quick heartbeat listen.  Thanks Shelly and Lara!  Seems all is well in there and now I know that even though the ice is gone, gravel is just as slippery!
